Firman Firdaus

Editor and designer. He founded and managed the popular science section at Media Indonesia—nationally circulated Indonesian newspaper—called Eksplorasi (“Exploration” in English) in 2004, in which he began to experiment with infographics and information design.

Got hired by the Indonesian edition of National Geographic Magazine in late 2006 as an editor, he established the website for the magazine and co-founded and designed Fotokita.net, a niche and curated photography community site with more than 50.000 active members today.

As a website and identity designer, his works has appeared in many respected blogs and design galleries such as Smashing Magazine, CSS Mania, Site Inspire, Minimal Site, SpyreStudios, etc.

His notable body of works then brought him to work as a fulltime freelancer at a huge design agency based in Australia, X-Team, the agency that built Twitter and Fox websites. He quitted three month later, and focusing on his personal brand and projects.

He also contributes to some respected WordPress development companies such as WooThemes, WPZoom, Gabfire Themes, and also Tokokoo and ColorLabs, both are Indonesian WordPress development agency, until present.

He still edits the NatGeo magazine, and designing in his not-so-much spare time.

And actually, he hates writing his bio in a third-person narrative mode. So this one is quite an accomplishment.
